Rotation Image Rotator Module Guide

This is the installation guide for the Rotation Image Rotator Module, which details installing the module and configuring the various optional settings of the module. The Rotation Image Rotator Module is packaged with all Theme Joomla template releases, and is not available as a self standing release.

This guide is specifically for the latest version of the Rotation Image Rotator Module which is designed for use with any of the Theme Joomla template releases.

Installing the Rotation Image Rotator Module

Once you have recieved your template download package and have your base installation of Joomla up and running you can install the image rotator module as explained below. The Rotation Image Module rotation.zip is located in the joomla version folder (as below) of your template download package.

Installing Rotation image module

  1. Login to your Joomla backend site administration.
  2. Now go to Installers / Modules from the top menu.
  3. Browse for the rotation.zip file in the joomla1.0.x folder of your template download.
  4. Click Upload File and Install, Then click continue on success.
  5. Now go to Modules / Site Modules from the top menu.
  6. Click on the TJ - Image Rotator to open the module options.

Installing Rotation image module

  1. Login to your Joomla backend site administration.
  2. Now go to Extensions/Install from the top menu.
  3. In the Upload Package File box, browse for the rotation.zip file - located in the joomla1.5.x of your template download package.
  4. Click Upload File and Install, Then click continue on success.
  5. Now go to Extensions/Module Manager from the top menu.
  6. Click on the TJ - Image Rotator to open the image rotator module options.

Base install settings for the controls module

Once you have the Rotation Image Module open, you need to set the following details settings in the module to get the module functioning.

  1. Set show title to no.
  2. Set enabled/pubished to yes.
  3. Color Fusion / Fusion Lite template - set the module position to user5.
  4. Power Kite template - set the module position to user6.

Parameter settings for the Rotation Image Rotator module

The following parameters are available when you open the Rotation Image Rotator Module from your admin backend; below are explanations on each setting:

Carousel Text Show / Hide   actual written text on button
Transition Effect fade/slide/horiz/vert   select a type of transition effect for images
Image Rotator Width integer 768px width of selected displayed images
Image Rotator Height integer 200px height of selected displayed images
Delay integer 6000 delay between slides (6000 = 6 seconds)

2 things to note - if you want to use the auto thumbnail feature, your site server must have the gd2 php extension installed, if you don't have it or are unsure, just make your own thumbnails and put them in your thumbnail folder. Remember to name you images and thumnails exactly the same. Secondly, a cache folder (in the module folder) gets created when the module is installed - this folder must have world read/write permissions in order for the module to function correctly.
