Power Slide Component and Module Install Guide

This is the installation guide for the Power Slide Pro Image Slideshow Extension and Power Slide Display Module (Both Pro and Standard Versions), which details installing both the component and module and configuring the various basic settings.

To make sure your module functions correctly, please make sure you read through this Power Slide Pro Image Slideshow Extension install guide. All source code files are fully commented and indexed - If you have a problem with any of the functionality of the module after using this guide, please open up a support ticket from our customer service area and we will sort you out.

Installing the Power Slide Pro Component and Module

First save your download package in an easy to access location (like your desktop) and extract the contents of the file. Your file structure of the powerslidepro.x.x.x.zip or powerslide.x.x.x.zip ("x.x.x" refers to the current version release of the extension) will be as follows:

Power Slide Pro ZIP File Content Structure

• com_powerslidepro.x.x.x - Pro Component install file (For controling galleries and advanced features)
• mod_powerslidepro.x.x.x - Pro Module install file (for displaying slide shows on your site)
• readme.txt - Version release and general information

Power Slide Standard ZIP File Content Structure

• mod_powerslide.x.x.x - Module install file (for displaying slide shows on your site)
• readme.txt - Version release and general information

Once you have your base installation of Joomla up and running (Latest 1.5.x release - this extension will not be developed for Joomla 1.0.x), you can install both the Component and Module as follows:

• Login to your Joomla backend site administration. (http://yoursite.url/administration)
• Now go to Extensions - Install / Uninstall from the top admin menu.
• Browse for the component or module zip file - from within your zip file as explained above.
• Click Upload File and Install, Once the installation is completed you should receive a Install Component Success message
• Repeat the steps above so that you have both the component and module installed.

To Access the Power Slide Pro Component

Once you are logged into the backend admin area of your site, select Components - Power Slide Pro to access the main component administration area.

To Access the Power Slide Module

Once you are logged into the backend admin area of your site, select Extensions - Module Manager to show a list of all installed modules. In the module list you should see a module called Power Slide Display Module in the left module position. Click on this to access the module administration area.

Please note you can copy multiple instances of the module - so that you can have different galleries on different pages - but you cannot have more than 1 gallery on a single page due to javascript limitations etc.
