Another useful free Plugin: Drag n Drop Admin

Sorting tables in the Joomla Administration can be a pain, for a while now here at Theme Joomla we have been using a nifty little administration plugin we created a while back to help us with working with tables called the Drag n Drop Admin Plugin. Thought it was about time to release it to the Joomla community for free as we thought it could be quite useful to all Theme Joomla members out there.

The Drag n Drop Admin Plugin removes the hassle of sorting your tables. Standard Joomla Admin dictates that you click an arrow, wait for page reload then repeat this until your tables are in order. Alternatively you can set the order numbers and click the little save icon. What this plugin does is allows you to drag table row items into the order you would like, then just click the save icon and your items are ordered. Simple as that.

We also added a few features to make it look a little fresher and cleaner, here the key features:

Now updated with more extension compatibility and works with Joomla 1.6!

  • Set the table class - So you can use this plugin on admin tables of your choice
  • Set odd and even row colors - Makes it easier when dragging and dropping to see what is going where
  • Use included jQuery - Sometimes you already using it, no need to have it twice
  • Remove sort arrows - Now that you can drag and drop, not really any need for the arrows
  • Major Compatibility - Works with most extensions and with Joomla 1.6 as well!

Hi there, Just one comment om the DragnDrop Plugin which works like a charm.

When having RSFirewall & DragnDrop installed and enabled, it does RSFirewall looping with a system check. When DragnDrop disabled RSFirewall works normal. This conflict has also been brought to the attention of RSJoomla 2010/10/21

It works in ANY table without adding any class... I just tested it on a table of a custom component and everything works like a charm!
