Open your template.css file in the template CSS directory; look for this:

filter:alpha(opacity=25); }

This controls the transparency for DIV's in the template. You can change the background transparent color "background: #000;" or remove the transparency by changing the following 3 values to 0 as below:

opacity: 0.00; 
-moz-opacity: 0.00; 
filter:alpha(opacity=00);

Thanks, Lumo. I think this would work to remove all of the transparent panels (with or without text). I am reluctant to ask, but is it possible to remove the panel only when there is no text?

I do think you guys are very responsive to 'strange' support requests and want to thank you for that.

To remove the transparency for the panel where there is no text (or any of the transparent panels individually):
In your index.php template file, look for the following DIV in the relevant area (in this case the main content area)

<div class="overlay"></div>

You can either delete that DIV, or comment it out (I have commented it out for you) - that.

As to your background image question - with just CSS you cannot get a background image to resize according to the screen size - you have to seperate the image into a tag, and create separate styling code for that - which can get quite messy and is not recommended.

However if you open your powerkite.css.php CSS file in your template CSS folder, you can see the following CSS style:

.full_site_wrap { background-image: url(../images/sheba_queens/sq_palace.jpg); background-repeat: repeat; background-position: left 100px ;}

I would recommend trying playing with the settings here, as in try setting the following changes:

background-repeat: no-repeat; 
background-position: center 100px;
