Theme Joomla Templates

'Element not defined for type = component'

I love Power Kite template but I am puzzled as to why the Custom theme styles on my install have this text after the pkn component in the list.

Also I had to manually change the params ini to 77 - dunno if that is related.

LumoMongo replied Send me your URL

Glad you love the template!
You have got me curious - can you send me your URL so I can see what you are talking about (you can mail it to support)? The chmod 77 sounds like a possible server setting - as most Joomla component/template installs should install the template with the correct permissions...

To clarify - I had to CHMOD the params.ini to 777 (my typo).
Actually I had messed up my ftp settings so I manually upoaded the template - I guess that could be the cause - I will try to uninstall and do it again with the ftp pass and user set correctly.

LumoMongo replied Try back-end admin installer

As far as I know, when you FTP or copy files directly to a server it does try and retain the permissions when copied - so that could be why...

You should just install it directly from your back-end admin installer... if you still having troubles send me an admin login for your site (to support) and I will have a look!

tonygillham replied Difficulty installing

I have been having difficulty installing anything through the J! admin panel on my server - I seem to remember Siteground mentioning some particular Script on apache (or setting... the memory is unfortunately rather vague) that prevented this from happening.

I have PM'ed you a temporary admin login.

LumoMongo replied Can't see the PM

hmm... can you send a mail to support or contact with the login details - plus also FTP details as I may need to check and change file permissions... Thanks!

tonygillham replied Too quick!

You replied too quickly is why.
Please have a coffee then check.

LumoMongo replied mmm...

Had Coffee. Got PM. Slowing down

LumoMongo replied Got the template installed!

I have been trying for ages now and come to only one conclusion - there is a permissions or setup issue with your hosting and installing (anything) - I would recommend that you contact site ground and ask them to check the logs (to see what is causing the problems) as there is definitely a configuration issue on there side.

I got it installed by manually copying (FTP) the files across into the template directory... and then setting it as default in the backend admin area. However this will not work for any modules you want to install (Like the image rotator and maybe some other templates) so I would still recon you need to contact site ground regarding this issue.
