Theme Joomla Templates

Article Dates etc. still showing

On Joomla 1.5.6 using PowerKite 1.0.0, I just started loading some content, and despite saying hide creation date, author etc., pdf icon, e-mail icon, they are all there. Is this an issue, or am I doing something wrong?

Also, how do I get the upgrade to 1.0.3 - do I have to pay again?

LumoMongo replied Adjust the parameters

You definitely do not have to pay again for the latest template version, all updates are free for our customers, unless we do a full re-work of the entire template (which I guess is like making a new template) however I do believe you have the latest version, just checked your order...

So you are trying to hide everything... do you just want the titles to show? There are 2 places to set this in the Joomla admin:

  • Open the menu item (for example home link) and then set the parameters on the right...

  • Open the article manager - then select the parameters link shown on top right - and change the values there...

RtX replied Only want title to show

Thanks - yes, only the title (no date, author etc.etc.).

If, as you suggest, I use the Parameters (Component) on the menu item to hide everything except the title (Ialso have to tell Joomla to hide these in the article manager), the title ceases to appear large and green and appears with what seems to be the same characteristics as the rest of the article text on the page. In order for it to appear as title text, I have to turn these other parameters to "show".

Also, I notice that the date that is being picked up and formatted within the title bears no resemblance to any date connected with the article. I created the article today (7 September 2008), and if I go into admin->article manager and look at the details there, that date is confirmed. The modified date/time is a few minutes after the created date/time. However, they are being displayed on the site as 12OCT2006, and last update 8 November 2007. If I switch to the milkyway template and from article manager turn the settings to show, the correct dates are displayed.

I have discovered since writing the above, that if I switch the date etc. to show in the article manager, the template correctly displays today's date. Trouble is I do not want the date to show. And if I turn it off in the article the title becomes part of the article.

Within template manager, it is reported that I am using PowerKite 1.0.0.

LumoMongo replied Version Update

Just to let you know, we are busy working on a large version update (to version 1.0.4) which will be sorted shortly, and we will send you the latest version as soon as it is ready - this will address the issues in your post...

skash replied Power Kite re-write

I just completed a major overhaul of Theme Joomla's Advanced Content Heading to bring more versatility and functionality together with Joomla's extra features.

I have gone through various combinations of parameter settings, making sure that all is fully working with Joomla.

One thing to note is that in Joomla 1.0.x if you make changes to the content parameters they will only get affected if you are viewing that content item. Joomla 1.0.x takes presedence with the menu item parameters over the parameters in the global configuration.

For Joomla 1.5.x the content parameters will take presedence over the menu item and global configuration parameters and override their values.

We will be sending you a download link shortly for you to get the latest template release and if anyone else who has bought the template and would like to have the latest template release ( Power Kite 1.1.0) then just send us a mail or login to the site, click on support in the menu and send us a support ticket and we will gladly send you your download link as well
