PNG Editing
by hungryOrb 5 Months, 1 Week ago
Hello.
I love this template guys. It is truly fantastic. Lovably simple, and beautiful in its tones.
So am having a go making a blue colour scheme for it. I'm not great with image edits though, and when trying to edit the faux_bg.png I hit some snags.
I was wondering if anyone has a spare minute, please could someone advise whether this faux_bg.png can be made into colour? And if not, how can I simply make the block grey, a transparent grey? I was thinking around 45%. This would let the background image leak into most of the page, and affect the colour scheme accordingly. Alternatively, the grey block could be coloured, but my attempt's at saving an optimised coloured version of this bg have failed so far..
I'm using Adobe ImageReady, is there another piece of software that will handle this better?
Thanks for considering =)
Robin

Hello!

Glad you like the template I have attached a 45% transparent faux_bg to this post - give it a try - however - just remember that without a solid PNG fix the alpha transparency will not work in IE6 - only index transparency (no shading), therefore I recon you should go your second route...

For the second route I would re-download the template (as I have updated the source file to include a new faux_bg slice, where you can change the faux_bg background and set it as you please).

I would highly recommend using Adobe Fireworks for all our source file editing, as the PNG layers are also sliced and optimized for web already, good luck with your site!

Hi Lumo!

I realise this IE6 problem, but IE6 has other issues that are bigger and badder than this, so I will discount this browser in the operation Really dislike the idea of accomodating out-of-date problems
Lumo, you are so very considerate! Thankyou! I did, however, manage to find out the params. PNG-24 seems to do the trick.
This shading is beautiful! The template is so nice.. If you'd like a copy of the scheme to put somewhere, let me know. Not that you couldn't do it yourself, and I'm sure much better than mine ;P

I should also say, I really like the site It's bright, fresh and has this sharp appeal! I feel a little overwhelmed..

btw- Do you have any intermediate JS experience?

Thanks so much!
Robin

IE6 needs to be removed from the history pages
by Lumo 5 Months, 1 Week ago
Hello,

yes, it really is not cool having to constantly design and code from our side for IE6 standards, so annoying and totally silly...

Send me (support or contact or here) your link when you are done, would like to have a look as to what you have done with the template

Javascript, Technical Coding and all that is handled by Skashi - I handle all marketing and design aspects at Theme Joomla.

You can drop him (or me) a message in the support or contact areas if you need to, or if it is a general question post it here

Hi Lumo,
How are things? :]
I was wondering if you could give me the base fireworks/psd file for Sublime's footer_bg.png? Can't quite seem to replicate the fade effect without going pixel by pixel
Not far from finished this red theme now.
Peace
Robin

Footer Sorted and Updated
by Lumo 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hey Robin,

I have updated the source file with the footer - grab the updated sublime package from our downloads area...

You will notice that the main area background has a shadow effect on it (open the PNG with Adobe Fireworks) - thats how we got the footer shadow

Once again, send me a link when you done - keen to see variants of Sublime!

Lumo
