Theme Joomla Modules
SlideInfoZone not appearing in IE
I've installed SlideShow Pro on my currently in-construction site here. The only problem I've faced, is the "slideInfoZone" div won't appear in IE 8, and IE 8 constantly finds some kind of error in mootools.js in line 1402, at char 38.
This error persists even when I disble to use the built-in mootools.js of PowerSlidePro. If I do this, IE finds the same error in the joomla built-in mootools.js. (As far as I can tell, both javascripts are the same version)
IE7 displays this div, but some texts are missing, plus, I have almost the same error message: error in mootools.js in line 1402, char 39. My joomla version is 1.5.15, with PowerSlide Pro 1.3.0. Bundled Mootools.js is currently enabled. As I'm not a java expert, I'd like to get some help to solve this issue.Thanks
LumoMongo replied Try default Joomla template
As in your other post - before we start tearing apart our code - try and change the template back to the default Joomla template... if the slideinfozone appears, then you know it is your template.
Perhaps Skashi can find something regarding the mootools - also there is a new release coming out in the next week - which might help with your problems
kapitalista replied Still got problem with IE8
I've switched back to Milkyway template on my dev. server to test it, plus turned off all 3rd party modules in the admin interface, to avoid every possibility of interference with PowerSlide pro.
The bad news is, I've still got the same problem with IE8. No slideshow, but an error sign, as written below. So, it was not the template.
With IE 6 and 7 , the slideshow runs , but the text in slideInfoZone h2 cannot be seen (just the slideInfoZone p text), plus an error sign is shown at the bottom of the browser window, telling me, that the script has some unknown runtime error in mootools.js in line 1402, char 39 (or 38, depending on IE version).
I'm waiting for Skashi's answer on mootools, perhaps he can help me with this.
To be honest, I'm not pretty sure about how could I catch the update this week?
Can it be downloaded or are you going to send it via e-mail for those who paid for the prev. version?
LumoMongo replied IE can be problematic
Yep, IE (all versions) seems to be the worlds biggest nightmare browser - like in this case. Hopefully Skashi can have a look at it - if you can mail him FTP details I am sure that would help - as we do not seem to have that issue on our side (of course)
As stated before - we are wrapping up a new version release, and will send you a copy once it is out - I have flagged your issues for this.
skash replied Tested with DebugBar's IE Tester
Hi there. I've tested a local copy of Power Slide Pro on a fresh Joomla installation (1.5.15) and it is working fine in IE6, IE7 & IE8 (I'm using DebugBar's IE Tester - it's really good for cross-browser testing...and its free!). I am busy with the release of Power Slide Pro 1.3.1 which I am hoping to release later today. I will send you the update so please install the latest version and if the problem still persists then we can take it from there.
skash replied Power Slide Pro 1.3.1 released!
Can you please email support[at]themejoomla.com with your 2Checkout order number as I cannot link your username with any purchased user. I will send the download link straight after confirmation.
kapitalista replied Thanks for the info.
Will watch my mail
LumoMongo replied Excellent
Nice work Skashi!
kapitalista replied now issues with IE6
I've installed the new version of the software, with the basic templates IE7 and 8 are working okay, it seems like my template has some coding problems in the css. (Any ideas, what css stylings should I check? Isit problematic if the container div of the slideshow module has "position:absolute" set?)
IE6, however won't show slideInfozone's background .png, and the warning message appears, as with the last version (error in mootools.js line 1402, char:38). The batch upload/add to gallery feature is cool, and if one reads the info provided, it's pretty easy to use. I was a bit confused, until I finally learnt how to read usage instructions. :-D
Idea:Would it be possible to choose a background image or background color for info zone on the admin panel? Or maybe some possibility to edit the css via tha admin interface?
The first ting my customer asked when we were talking about purchasing SlideShow Pro, if it's possible or not to change the black background, as a white one was fitting much better for his site.

It should not be problematic - try however making the container (holding) div as follows - also try a css debugger to remove your template css bit by bit to find the conflicting style.
xxx {float: left; margin: 0px; padding: 0px} IE6, however won't show slideInfozone's background .png, and the warning message appears, as with the last versioin (error in mootools.js line 1402, char:38).
IE6 is no longer supported by us - as also no longer supported by microsoft, and also by all other humans who have stepped out of the early 90's

Glad you like it - kudos to Skashi for building that

We so busy working on Power Slide 2.0 that things like this will not be possible, you can however just change it (hard code) it yourself in the powerslide CSS:
.jdGallery .slideInfoZone {
position: absolute;
z-index: 15;
width: 100%;
margin: 0px;
left: 0;
bottom: 0;
background: none;
background-image: url('../images/core/transparent.png'); CHANGE THIS
color: #fff;
text-indent: 0;
overflow: hidden } The first ting my customer asked when we were talking about purchasing SlideShow Pro, if it's possible or not to change the black background, as a white one was fitting much better for his site.
The module background can be changed in the module parameters
