Thumbnails not showing

Hi, We are having issues with this component, getting the thumb nails to work at this site

We have confirmed that GD Version (2.0.28 ) and imagemagick is installed on the server. Your input is greatly appreciated

LumoMongo replied Try new version of Power Slide Pro

I noticed you have an older version of Power Slide Pro installed on your site. The latest version was released last week (10 July 2009) version 1.3.0 which should address this issue.
I will send you a download link shortly.

Note: For anyone else experiencing a similar issue it is strongly advised to upgrade to the latest version. Just send us a support ticket by clicking on Support on the main menu above and fill out the support ticket and we will send you a download link pronto!

captaintonka replied Problem still there

Thank you for your reply. I have downloaded the lastest version and installed it here, but problem still there.

LumoMongo replied Image names have spaces

Yes, I noticed that your image names have spaces in them. You will need to remove the spaces. So
for example from:

Hangroup Building 007.jpg

To:

Hangroup_Building_007.jpg

It is incorrect syntax for the url to have spaces and the php function that creates the thumbnails does not accept spaces in the filename. It's just one of those unexplainable things

skash replied Yep yep! syntax guys

No spaces, avoid capitals and also avoid weird characters - servers do not like these things...

captaintonka replied Still no joy

Thank you guys for your input. Tried to change the naming convention to all lower case, no spaces and underlines, and .................. still no joy. See here

skash replied 403 Forbidden error

Right, we are getting somewhere here... you are now getting a 403 Forbidden error on your thumbnails. You need to change permissions on resizer.php to 775 as well as your images folder:

[site name]/modules/mod_powerslidepro/resizer.php
[site name]/images/powerslide

captaintonka replied We are getting somewhere.

The permissions are fixed, and the link above shows the thumbnails. When we try to view the gallery, we are still getting the original problem.

skash replied May be Image/cache issues

Ok that should have been it . The last thing now is that the images are being cached on your site as well as the possibility that the images cannot be written to the cache folder as I noticed that there is one image thumbnail that is showing.

There was one more folder that needs 775 permissions:

[site name]/modules/mod_powerslidepro/cache

After changing that then do a force refresh on your browser (works best on Firefox with Ctrl+Shift+R)

If all-else-fails after that then send us a support ticket here with super admin details and ftp details and I will debug your site directly on your server

bastuha replied Same issue with thumbnails

Hey I have the same issue. I just purchased PSP v.1.3.0, and same issue with the thumbs. I'm developing my site on wamp localhost and been scratching my head to figure out what could be wrong. I checked the cache folder of the module and the thumbs are all there in this naming convention (thumbnail-50x75-img_3325.jpg). Not sure if this naming is causing the issue but these images seem to be named like this on upload. The actual images get uploaded to folder
"imagespowerslide". I tried various settings like relative and absolute paths as well. No luck.

I'm not sure if htaccess makes a difference on localhost dev, but i enabled the htaccess.txt file to htaccess and enabled mod rewrite on admin side of global config of joomla. I'm running Joomla 1.5.12

P.S. i get no error messages, just blank spots where thumbs should be.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

LumoMongo replied View the page source

Try view the source of your site page - you should be able to find the link to the image for the thumbnails - open that link in your browser, and see if it works - it should open fine, if that does not work, or you cannot find it - then you gonna have to put it on a dev url so I can have a look - or just mail me your source page so I can check the syntax for you...
