Problem with loadposition

I got the module version working within a module position, but the loadposition syntax within an article doesn't seem to call it up. I just get a blank article. Any ideas? Thanks.

LumoMongo replied Which plugin is "loadposition"

Could you send me your URL and also let me know which plugin is "loadposition" - we have built Power Slide to work 100% in the module and component, but we cannot vouch for unknown 3rd party plugins...
More than likely it is something to do with file caching or the loading of the JS and other files, better if I have a closer look.

dennisw1mac replied "Content - Load Module" plugin

The "Content - Load Module" plugin is a core part of J 1.5. It allows a module's contents to loaded within an article. Loads Module positions within Content, Syntax:

{loadposition user1}

I created a direct link to this article here.
...but it won't be very helpful, the content of the article is simply...

{loadposition footer}

...and if you'd like to see the module working, you can see it here.
I thought that the "loadposition" syntax was commonly used, but I'm fairly new at this, so I don't know.

LumoMongo replied Edit your template XML file

Right... figured this one out - you learn something new every day...

The Power Slide Extension actually works fine with the "loadposition" plugin... the problem comes with the fact that if you use (for example) - and publish the Power Slide Pro module to the footer position, while also calling it in the article - it tries to show the module twice > and therefore breaks the code, as Power Slide cannot be shown twice on the same page due to JS and coding restrictions...

So the trick here, is to edit your template XML file, and add a module position called "article" for example:

<position>article</position>

And then use the call for that position:

{loadposition article}

While making sure that you do not have Power Slide published to that same page in any other position. If you want to have Power Slide inside your article, just make sure the module position is set to article, and to show on all pages, and then call it as above...

This is how I got it working here locally, and that should work for you, unless the problem lies somewhere else. Let me know how it goes!

dennisw1mac replied Yes, works like a champ.

Thanks for getting it figured out.

LumoMongo replied No problem

Glad I figured it out as well

It worked on my site
