Multiple instances of 'multiple galleries'?

I am trying use the multiple galleries feature on several different pages but can't seem to figure out how one would do this. If you select 'yes' on the 'use multiple galleries' config, the module will show ALL of the galleries listed in the component. I want to be able to show multiple galleries-- like in the demo-- but with different content on different pages. Is this possible?

If this is not possible, this module, which I thought was very versatile, but turns out to be able only to produce ONE instance of the multiple galleries feature with ALL of the galleries, would be very disappointing. If not possible then the multiple galleries feature should just be marketed as an archive feature as it groups together all of your galleries in one place but there is no way to order or make custom selections of them, thus drastically limiting the appeal of such a 'feature'.

I hope I am just missing the obvious here, because until I ran into this inconvenience I was having a great experience with this module. Thanks

Edit:I have seen that the functionality that I am looking for is not available as of now but will be coming in the 2.0 version.

Could you tell me:

  • how is the development of this version as of right now?
  • is this a guaranteed feature with 2.0?
  • will I have to pay again for the 2.0 version?
I ask this as, the inclusion of this feature (displaying multitple instances of 'multitple galleries' is the only way that this component will be of any interest to me and I would rather not waste more time or money on a component (that otherwise is brilliant) that will not serve my needs.

Thanks in advance

LumoMongo replied Gallery grouping

As I am sure you have figured out by now, what you are talking about is called "gallery grouping" - which, yes, is being specified and built into Power Slide 2.0... answers to your questions:

how is the development of this version (2.0) as of right now?

about 2 months to go...

is this a guaranteed feature with 2.0?

yes... unless we run into a huge issue, but I doubt it.

will I have to pay again for the 2.0 version?

1.0 users will get a discounted (about half) price on 2.0 - as it is a completely new version. All 1.0 updates however are completely free to 1.0 users.

If you are not going to use the extension due to the reasons in your post, and would rather wait for 2.0 - then drop me a mail with your order number and I will issue you a refund.

arnobarno replied Any quick fix?

this feature is very important for us too. I read through several forum posts now and I found a 3 weeks old posting were you said that version 2 will be available in 2 months.
Now in this posting (3 days ago) you still expect version 2 to be available in 2 month.
Did your schedule change during the last 3 weeks?

Is there any "quick and dirty" way (even with some changes in the php code) to have a similar feature with the current version? Any idea where to start?

Thank you very much.

LumoMongo replied Will check with skashi

The date keeps getting pushed forward every time we add new features into Power Slide 1.0 Basically - we have 2 major new template releases before Power Slide 2.0 - which I guesstimate at a few weeks each to release - then we can start finalizing Power Slide 2.0 - which we are about 5 complete with so far...

As to doing it "dirty" or a quick way of doing it, I think Skashi can answer that for you, I will drop him a mail and ask him to reply to your post.

arnobarno replied Thanks a lot

That would be very helpful!

skash replied Sorry for all the delays.

I have been busy working on getting Power Slide Pro to work with both versions of mootools (1.1 and 1.2) but I think what you are asking for is a more important feature to include and it will be quicker to implement so I will be working on the next release of Power Slide Pro that will include the following features:

* An option to enter the gallery id's to show for each module instance

* Folder Structure method - alphabetical sorting bug fix

The next release will be for early this week and the work on mootools will be included at a later stage.

arnobarno replied When can we expect this feature?

Thanks a lot for your understanding. This feature would bring us the possibilities we need to handle the amount of galleries that our site will have quite soon.
When you are really able to deliver such an extended version during the next days, then we can wait for it. We need it until the 28th of June. Do you see a chance to have it done by this date?

BTW: I think our website will be a really good reference for you

LumoMongo replied Great News!

We have built this into the latest release of Power Slide, sending you a download link now!

arnobarno replied Thank you very much!

Your support is excellent!

LumoMongo replied Refining features in Power Slide 2.0
