Keep getting a page not found error

I have installed Powerslide pro and added the menu, but keep getting a page not found error. the page is not being recognized when adding it as a menu item. I have verified that the ID is correct.

LumoMongo replied What type of link is error on?

What type of menu link are you getting the error on, article / component etc... because you should be able to in standard Joomla 1.5 > make a menu link to a content article (for example) > and then assign the Power Slide Pro module to that menu link page (module parameters > assignment) - with no 404 errors at all...
How did you get to that 404 error, as in what steps did you take up until that till it started happening?

After doing that, the module should definitely work... also have you gone through the guides.
You can also mail me your url and I will have a look at what you are talking about, and if possible a super admin account so I can confirm correct setup.

Edit: You are definitely missing a step - the component does not display the gallery - the module does this - assigned to a menu item... try this:

  • Install the power slide component and module.

  • make a new article - for now call it "test"

  • link your new article "test" to the main menu > so that you can open the article from the menu in the front end.

  • then open the power slide module, in the "Menu Assignment" area assign the just to the menu link "test" and publish it to the module position you would like it to display in (left, right, top etc)

  • then if you open the article menu link in the front end "test" you should see the Power Slide module in the front end.

If this is not working for you then I can set this up for you, just send me super admin login details to your site. Alternatively I can get one of our developers to have a look at making the component menu link for you, but this could take a bit of time. Did you get my mail about the guides?

LumoMongo replied ...

I have mailed you a screenshot - things to confirm are:

  • the path set in module to your images (in (root)/images/powerslide) or what you set it to be

  • both module and component are installed and published, and that module is set to administration method...

  • that you have more than 2 images in each gallery (sometimes this causes an issue) set in component...

  • that all galleries and images are published (if using admin component)

  • that your image folders are readable (chmod 755)
