Images not loading

Hi, I am missing something important and hope you can set me straight....

So far I have successfully installed the Power Slide Pro module and component. I have published the module in a position not being used by any other published modules. I have created one gallery and uploaded and published 3 images with a link, some text and read more. The web page shows the module title (so I can see that it is active), I can see the rotating text for each of the gallery images, but all I get is a black box with no image loaded. I have resized the module for the same size as the images (640 w x 300 h). The module position should allow for this size.

What am I missing? Do I need to create an article for each image with the inserted?

I was hoping the associated text for each image loaded in the gallery was all that was required for the pro slide gallery to work with the module. Thanks

LumoMongo replied Power Slide bug or variables.css.php

We have had a bug in the Power Slide extension over the weekend, which we have just sorted out, and are in the process of mailing all clients around this time new download links to the fixed version - I will send you a new download link shortly, try installing this.

The module should read directly from the component without any need for loading position (unless you want to display in content)

The problem you are describing is usually when the variables.css.php file cannot be read by the site, make sure that file (located in your module CSS folder) and the folder's permissions are set to chmod 755.

If you still stuck after this, send me your URL (and if possible a super admin account) and I will have a look

theywood replied Thanks, received link.

Thank you, I have received the email with the new link.
Please advise if I need to uninstall both the module and component before installing the fixed ones again.

LumoMongo replied Yes, both have been updated

Just be aware of 3 posts above this one regarding your module and component settings.

theywood replied Will try reinstalling

Yes, Thanks I have just been reading that post. I will try reinstalling now.

LumoMongo replied Good luck

Let me know if you need any help

theywood replied Still no image

Thanks. The Module and component for the new version have loaded successfully. Still no image though, I am not sure where to find the variables.css.php file (located in your module CSS folder) to set the the folder's permissions to chmod 755.
I have looked through the folders for this file, but cant see it so far. Please advise where to locate or do you want to access the site as administrator?
I really appreciate your help, my php coder is out to dinner at the moment.

LumoMongo replied variables.css.php location

Good to see you let him out of his cage for supper..

The variables.css.php file is located in the css folder of the module:

modules/mod_powerslidepro/css/

Make sure this folder and the containing files are chmod 755 (read and writable by server)
If you still not getting images, send me your url and a super admin account and I will have a look...

theywood replied Permissions reset to chmod 755

Wonderful! Thanks to you and my php coder (aka "my husband" who just got back from dinner) I can now see the image!. The permissions were reset for all folders to 755. The css folder was set to 755, but the sub folders were ticked for the read, write and executable permissions.
I am so pleased. I will now play with the images and get the text working over the top.
Site will be up soon.

LumoMongo replied Awesome!

Good luck and happy coding
