Error messages and Can't change default extension

I did a fresh install of v2.3.3 on my clients main site. I had previously installed v2.2.4 on her test site so I could tinker with it until she liked the look. After I installed v2.3.3 (for Joomla 1.5x on v1.5.23), I matched the configuration of v2.2.4 and made a menu item (top menu titled Test).

Issue #1: Error Messages-
When I went to the main site and tried to load Kupo, instead of Kupo I received error messages. I looked at the files the messages are referring to and they seem to be about the thumbnails.

The message are: (note: directory names x'ed out for security purposes)
---------------------
Notice: Undefined variable: module in /xxx/xxx/xxx/components/com_kupo/views/kupoimagesmodule/view.html.php on line 25

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /xxx/xxx/xxx/components/com_kupo/views/kupoimagesmodule/view.html.php on line 25

Notice: Undefined variable: thumb_base_path in /xxx/xxx/xxx/modules/mod_kuposlidespro/helper.php on line 249
-----------------
The last message repeats down the page. The instances match the number of images in the content.

Issue #2: Can't change default extension/template-
Despite changing the template to StreamLine in the module settings, when I load Kupo Pro from the component dropdown and go to the extensions tab, the default is still set to Kupo Pro.

Any advice and/or help greatly appreciated,
betty

skashi replied These are not error messages, they are notices

Issue #1: These "Notices" are about uninitialized variables and these messages should be turned off in a production environment. Speak to your hosting provider about this.

Issue #2: The Kupo Slides Pro template is the default extension that comes with Kupo Slides Pro. You cannot set a "default" extension here. The word "default" in this case is merely indicating that this is the default template that comes with Kupo Slides Pro. When creating new modules just remember to set the template to StreamLine.

re: Issue #1
What so I tell our provider to change? If the notices are eliminated then the gallery will show? What maked me wonder about the notices is that on my clients test site I had installed v2.2.4 and received no notices, the gallery showed up right away. Both the test site and her main site are on the same server and account. Why would they show up in v2.3.3 but not v2.2.4?

Issue #2: solved

thank you,

There have been updates to the code since 2.2.4 where these variables have been defined, but without declaration. You need to tell your hosting provider to remove PHP Notice's off your live server. Otherwise you can try doing this yourself by going to Global Configuration -> System Settings -> Error Reporting, set it to Simple. This is not a security risk, so setting it to Simple would not compromise any security issues.

I changed the error reporting to simple and now another statement shows up, I can only see part of it as the rest is behind a sidebox:

FirstPauseo/extensions/module//img/btn_last.png" onClick="kupoGallery.
<div id="kupo_images_thumbnails"></div><div class="kuposlides-buttons" id="kuposlides-buttons" align="center"><img src="http://www.themejoomla.com/components/com_jomcomment/templates/pastel//components/com_kupo/extensions/module///img/btn_first.png" onClick="kupoGallery.goTo(0);" alt="First"/><img src="http://www.themejoomla.com/components/com_jomcomment/templates/pastel//components/com_kupo/extensions/module//img/btn_pause.png" onClick="pausePlayGallery();" alt="Pause" id="pausebutton" title="Play/Pause"/>o/extensions/module//img/btn_last.png" onClick="kupoGallery.goToLastItem();" alt="Last"/></div>

What should I do from here?

part of my reply above is missing for some reason. Under the line of code I pasted that shows up on the screen above the gallery is the page source. Part of the source code is missing a bracket which is making it print as text on the gallery page.

The longer paste is the source code from the gallery page to show the error.
