Different slideshow in different article xml method

After testing the free version which is very good, I have juste bought the pro one in order to display different slideshows in different articles.

I use the XML fetch method with 2 galleries named Gal1 and Gal2, could you please explain how to display Gal1 in article1 and Gal2 in article2. Thanks.

skash replied In Power Slide Pro 1.3.1

This is not possible at the moment, however we are currently finishing up the new release of Power Slide Pro which addresses this issue (and there are a few other added features to go along with the release).

Release will be: Power Slide Pro 1.3.1
Approximated release date: Early next week (19/20 Jan 2010).

claude_t replied Thank you very much

It is a very good news.
Could you please just tell me if the structure of the XML file is going to change ?

LumoMongo replied XML will be falling away

As we have some great automated component gallery setup (which ultimately does what the XML would anyways) through multiple image upload direct into galleries.

Exciting stuff hey!

claude_t replied Yes very exciting!

I wonder how the images title and description will be managed !
we'll see ! soon !

skash replied Power Slide Pro 1.3.1 has been released!!!

Here is the changelog: Module - M, Component - C:
M - Fixed initial image popping up when Multiple Galleries is set to Yes.
M - Fixed common error "Fatal error: Cannot redeclare imagearraygallery()..."
C - Display module in menu link correctly coded - When creating a Power Slide Module Layout menu item link under Parameters (basic) there will be a drop down where you can select the Power Slide Display Module you would have setup in the Module Manager.
C - Added Multi-Upload and Create Content tool - Now you can upload your images using the Multi Upload tool or you can FTP your images to [site name]/images/powerslide/tmp/ and use the Multi Upload tool to create content/images for the Power Slide Pro Admin Method.

I will be sending you a download link shortly.

claude_t replied Can't figure it out

Sorry I cannot see with this new version how to achieve different galleries on different pages using the xml method, as even after copying multiple instances of the module there is still only one xml file.
I use the xml method because it i the one which can dynamically construct galleries with title and description. Any idea ?

LumoMongo replied That would be impossible

Coding that would involve linking menu database links to separate XML files - and now with the new version multiple upload which auto creates your slideshows I cannot see the point in the XML - and why it is falling away.

The XML was built actually for users to create titles and descriptions if they did not have the admin component - but you got that so it should do what you need it to?

claude_t replied Batch construct the xml file

The big advantage to have the xml file, is you can create it with a batch process. I already have in one computer, images, descriptions and titles, which change every day.
The idea is to batch construct the xml file and ftp load everything on the Joomla server . I do not want every day to do this manually with the admin interface.

It could be fine to upload with the images a xml or txt file which define the title and description for each image.

May be I am missing something, I even do not see how to input the description with the admin method.

LumoMongo replied Would have to be customised

I see what you are saying, and I thought you would be doing something like that... however that is way beyond the capabilities of Power Slide, and would be a custom build that Skashi would have to look into... might have to be something for Power Slide 2.0 - as we do not have infinite coding hours, and deadlines to meet.

claude_t replied modifying duplicate mod_ powerslidepro.zip file

I know what you mean by infinite coding hours.
Thank you for your answer.
I am thinking of duplicate mod_ powerslidepro.zip file and modify it to have a second module with a new name, new directories, and of course a new xml file.
