Guests still able to view "registered" menu items
by brian420 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Greetings. I recently purchased the Color Fusion template recently. I would first like to thank the creator(s) for their hard work and efforts on creating such a beautiful template that's easy to use and customize. I have just two minor problems with it that I can NOT seem to sort out for the life of me.

Problem number 1: Guests are still able to view menu items in the main, horizontal menu, that are for registered members only. This problem does not happen with the default template, or any other template for that matter. I'm a novice to Joomla! templating, but I may venture to guess that there's a missing <?php if=admin?> statement or some sort that looks to see if the user is eligible to view the menu item. I assure you that the menu item is set to Registered only, however, guests are still able to view this menu item. This does NOT happen to Modules, only the main menu navigation.

Problem (see also question) number 2: The tooltip hover class, that provides the nifty semi-transparent div on mouseover (very cool by the way), how do I set parameters in my <a href> tag to show the pertinent information that I need? Example, on your demo site, if someone mouses over the Checkout graphic, it says "$25 Download Here - Click here to Purchase this template"
How do I set my <a> links to provide that information. If I put the link < a href="link.html" class="tips" >My Link< /a >, it will indeed place the tooltip on my link on mouseover, but it doesn't provide any sort of information like yours did, it just has the URL in the tooltip. And if the URL is too long, it gets cut off. In short, how do I achieve the affect that you did?

Other than that, I have had no problems with reading the provided documentation and acquiring the information that I need. I must be just having a brain fart when it comes to these two problems and could not find suitable documentation on these issues. (I do understand that the template was just released and the documentation is currently being finished, so no worries)

In closing, I again would like to thank you for such a beautiful template and your hard work. Thank you for your time.

"registered" menu items and tool tips
by Lumo 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Hi Brian,

Thanks for the positive words always nice to hear from a happy client. lets sort out those issues:

The menu registered items showing issue - we can confirm this issue on our side, Skashi is sorting a fix for it right now, and we will let you know and mail it to you as soon as it is done (should not take to long)

The tool tips functionality - You can use the following example of how to use the tool tips:

QUOTE:
<a href="link.html" class="tips" title="Here is a Title ::and here is a description">here</a>

You see the template javascript picks up the class tips for the styling, and hooks the title tag to create the tip heading and description. I will add this to the guide shortly!

Have a cool day, and good luck with those brain farts
